Story starts
Vanguard Princess is a 2D girls fighting game which is developed by Sugeno Tomoaki. The game play is old school fighting style which involves multiple key sequence for combo and "power".
Character select
However, it break out from the norm to have all-girl characters. You can see more character pictures from the developer's blog. Another important point is that it can be downloaded free. You can download the game here. Just click the blue button. :)
Character inroduction
The downloaded file will be a self-extract executable (.exe) file. Just run it, let it extract and you can play.
Oh, another thing to highlight. Windows XP users need to enable Japanese as non-unicode language. Otherwise, the game cannot be launched. You need to restart the PC after changing the language to Japanese. Another alternative is to install Microsoft AppLocale. Microsoft claim you need not to reboot the PC after changing non-unicode language.
Fight!
You will see some story telling after you start the game, too bad if you can't read Japanese (me too). Just hit "A" to skip all the unwanted scene and down to the fighting. Enjoy!
Fighting scene, combo!
You win

Sony convention 2008, the hands-on

Hot ride
During Sony Convention, we had a class from Darren Chang how to shoot cars and bikes. We had a hands on session with 2 bikes. This was the bike that lighted under a big softbox. Too bad, I don't have the chance to use the strobe trigger.

Shining metal pipes
Glittering and shining of metal exhaust pipes, ah, the girls are out of my frame. This is better. Harleys are best with shining metals.

How fast can you go?
This was the bike that lighted under a big softbox. Too bad, I don't have the chance to use the strobe trigger. However, I kinda like the outcome with only lighting from the softbox light bulb. This was the point I found my kit lens focusing gear screwed up. The gear stuck and there's a loud drilling sound from the in-body focusing screw drive. This picture was one of the last picture taken before the lens K.O.

Hitchhike?
The back seat is empty. Do you want a free ride? ^_^
This the same Ducati from the previous picture. This also means another hands-on assignment completed by a good student. LOL. I took this picture after my kit lens focus gear striped and swapped with a Minolta 35-70 f/4.

Sony convention 2008, the food

Busy day
Dim sum chef in action! He's working hard to served people at restaurant in Le Meridien Hotel. This was too long ago during Sony Convention, I can't remember the good restaurant name. Their food is simply awesome, too bad my stomach is not large enough.
Hot and spicy, vegie style
Indian vegetarian with all the good spices and vegetable definitely. Curry, a lot of curry.
Giant Tentacles
For all this time, I used to enjoy my squid sushi without knowing how it was before getting sliced. I still lined up get my tako sushi after seeing that. ^_^

Sahimi and roll
I had a nice plate for my California roll and sashimi. They looked so good that you can't avoid to take picture of them. I like the Japanese soy sauce very much. Sashimi, sushi or maki is good with dipping in soy sauce.

The 3rd year
060606 is the day I reported for my first job. It had been 3 years since I'm working in Penang. Without noticing the significance of the date, I brought along my parents and girlfriend to visit Penang Floral festival.
Tree art
Despite its miniature size, it is strong enough to hold its leaves and rooted strongly in the tiny pot. This tiny tree is about 6 inches tall, very adorable. There are a lot of bonsais, orchids and a lot of flowers on display at Botanical Garden on my 3rd year. I'm lucky to reach there in the morning. It was so hot in the afternoon.
Happy Friday!

Pagoda

Bokeh pagoda
I visited Kek Lok Si at Penang a few months back during Chinese new year. The temple was decorated full with lights and bulbs. I told myself that I must visit this place again next year.

Sony convention 2008, the event

Follow me!
Last year, I attended the first Sony Convention. When I reached KL Sentral to head to Le Meridien hotel. The direction stickers was everywhere! This is very helpful for me to reach my destination easily. :)
Hot Ducati
I had a big wow when I reached the venue. Sony actually rented some hot bikes for participants to have something to shoot at. It is shining without any dust and marks!
Harley and a lady
Not too long after I took some pictures of those hot bikes, female models came in and posed with the machine. I prefer photos of those glittering and shining metals without the girls. :P Too bad I didn't have enough shoots before the models arrived.
See through the A900
In conjunction with the Sony convention, A900 was launched at the same time. Sony put a display of this prototype of A900 in a glass container. The room was dark so I 'd to bump up my ISO which made this picture grainy. I remembered this was the 5th or 6th shot i took before changing from ISO1600 to ISO3200, shaky hands. Other than black, I think a transparent casing for SLR is cool. I would love to own one. :)
Huge poster
I was in awed when I see the print out of Sony Alpha A900 can be so huge. This is how a 24.6 Megapixel picture can do, a giant size poster!
Next, on the food and the hands-on assignment.
