Cotton cloud
Someone just stick some cotton on the sky. Those cloud is so fake on the sky. There is no post-processing done on this picture. Anyway, the sky is still best when it is dusk. Beautiful sky.

J.Co Donuts

Donuts and bokeh
Sweet and fresh donuts in a box.
I had a chance to try out donuts from J.Co which is newly opened in Penang. I would say I prefer donuts from Big Apple, J.co donuts are a bit soft inside (too much air?). My other favourite donuts are from La Boheme at Jusco where it sells cheaper donuts. Basically all donuts are almost the same. If I was blind-folded to do a donut test, I can't differentiate what donuts are they from. Donuts are cheap long ago but they become more and more expansive with these donuts boutiques around.

Penang Floral Fest: The bonsai
The story continues with lots of bonsai laying around. I once thought that bonsai must be miniature trees planted in rice bowl but what I saw was giant, twisted, knotted, 'miniature' trees that are at least 3 feet hight planted in huge bath tub. Let's look at some interesting bonsai.

Penang Floral Fest: The flowers
What did you expect to see at Floral Festival? Lotsa flowers of course!!! so in this first chapter, let the flowers flood into your retina. oh, and this event was held many moons ago. The bee is hardworking. I went to Penang Floral Fest and I greeted the bee good morning. Bigger bee
In the morning
Morning sun is always perfect light. Flowers and morning ray are perfect match. Bigger glow
Light bath
At the entrance of the Penang Floral Festival which was held at Botanical Garden, there was sea of flowers greeted us. I was thinking of jumping flat into the sea (of flowers). It may hurt a little when you hit the flower pots underneath. It would be greater if these flowers are natural born on earth. (Then I can do the jumping)
Feeling flowers
Are these Chrysanthemums? I don't know, whatever, these glowing white flowers are great. More white in black!
Glowing white
As it was not the first day opening of the festival, the flowers were there for a few days. some of the "weak" flowers were started to died. you can see the flowers turned brown. It must be cold night the day before, you can see morning dew.
Morning dew
Well, you could not only see flowers at Flower Fest, they had bonsais and orchids on display too. till the next post. :)

Take me home

home
We have Muslims Ramadan celebration holiday. I took the opportunity of this holiday to go back to my hometown, Kuantan. The sky was overcast, it had been raining this few days. To be a good citizen, I drove to the side of the road, turned on my emergency flashing signals and shot away. It's good to be at home once in a while.

Kek Lok Si at night
Kek Lok Si is way more attractive and beautiful at night. I've shown a lighted Pagoda previously. It's worth to get into the crowd and traffic jam before coming to this temple. It's during Chinese new year, so there were a lot of tourists and locals for prayer or sight-seeing. I came here with another 2 photogs and my
Temple at night
Large On Black
You could say every group of people has one camera with them and you could see tripods everywhere. People were posing in front of everything. Bulbs, LEDs are wrapped around on every buildings, Pagodas and roof tops. This made the temple covered in red and yellow.

Other than the LEDs wrapper, all the existing lights were turned on which is rare. Here's Buddha statues along the walkway. Peaceful...

Due to the fact than majority of the light source is red or yellow, white balance is way off in the pictures. I had to processed heavily in raw. Oh, don't forget to enjoy the view of lanterns. Lots of them. Red and yellow are all over the place at Kek Lok Si.

I still prefer my photos in landscape.
The big Kuan Yin statue's roof was not finished in construction. I think it will be done at next Chinese new year. Then, there will be another rush of photogs for that lighted Kuan Yin, next year.
