Story starts

Vanguard Princess is a 2D girls fighting game which is developed by Sugeno Tomoaki. The game play is old school fighting style which involves multiple key sequence for combo and "power".

However, it break out from the norm to have all-girl characters. You can see more character pictures from the developer's blog. Another important point is that it can be downloaded free. You can download the game here. Just click the blue button. :)


Character inroduction

The downloaded file will be a self-extract executable (.exe) file. Just run it, let it extract and you can play.

Oh, another thing to highlight. Windows XP users need to enable Japanese as non-unicode language. Otherwise, the game cannot be launched. You need to restart the PC after changing the language to Japanese. Another alternative is to install Microsoft AppLocale. Microsoft claim you need not to reboot the PC after changing non-unicode language. EDIT: I've tried the AppLocale and it doesn't work at all. I still need to run the game the old way.

You will see some story telling after you start the game, too bad if you can't read Japanese (me too). Just hit "A" to skip all the unwanted scene and down to the fighting. Enjoy!
